The kids we help are not to be pitied.
These are average, every day kids who turn into heroes long before they should have to be heroic.
Our first Karma is Action challenge of 2008 raises funds so that these children are able to attend pediatric oncology camps to meet other kids and just have fun. Taking a break from the isolating treatment of their diseases, they can swim, laugh, eat s’mores, hug, cry.
We are not political and we are not funding medical research. We are helping to rebuild a child’s spirit after the emotionally devastating effects of life-threatening illness. After all, it is the child’s spirit that can be most important during treatments.
The camps we fund pay for 100% of the kids’ stay including medical staff, food, accommodations and all the fun stuff in between.
As yoga has made the everyday journey our lives better, we strive to make the journey of these children’s lives more enjoyable.
